The 1st edition of the International Students’ Conference “The Sound Ambiguity” was held on April 24-25, 2014, at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław. This event has become an excellent platform for exchanging ideas and scientific achievements of young researchers not only from Polish, but also foreign academic centers, for example – Belgium, Great Britain and Slovenia. For two days we discussed the ambiguity of the sound surrounding us, and we took part in a series of accompanying events. Between inspiring scientific sessions of the conference, participants had the opportunity to see the jubilee exhibition “65 years of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław” and the display entitled “Marta Ptaszyńska – composer, percussionist, teacher.” On April 24, 2014, as a part of the conference, there was a concert featuring the work of young composers of Wroclaw. Pieces were performed by students of the Instrumental faculty of the Academy of Music in Wrocław. The honorary patronage over the event was taken by Prof. Dr. Hab. Krystian Kiełb, Rector of the Academy. The project was co-financed by the municipality of Wrocław and media patronage over the event was taken by: Foundation Meakultura, “Presto”, Academic Radio LUZ, Polish Music Information Centre, “Glissando”, dlastudenta.pl.
