Born in 1973 in Szczecin, composer, lecturer and music producer. Graduate of the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, where he studied composition under Gilius van Bergeijk and Diderik Haakma Wagenaar. Received MA degree from the Academy of Music in Poznań, where he studied composition in the class of Grażyna Pstrokońska-Navratil. PhD. He took part in additional masterclasses under the guidance of Marek Jasiński and Włodzimierz Kotoński.

Assistant professor at the Szczecin University (since 2003) and the Academy of Art in Szczecin. Guest lecturer at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague (2003) and the Zurich University of Arts (2009). Since 2010 he has been the director of the Academic Center of Promotion and Development of the Szczecin Academy of Art. In 2012 he was the Deputy Rector of that Academy.

Piotr Klimek is a holder of numerous scholarships, e.g. Burgemeester van Kolfschotenfonds, the Stefan Batory Foundation, Stiftung Kulturfonds Berlin and Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst. He received the Szczecin City Art Award (2003), Amber Ring Award (2007) and the Cross of Merit (2008). He composes symphonic, choral, chamber and electronic music. Since 1991 he has been cooperating closely with theatre directors, and since that time he has written music for over 130 stage performances. Klimek also creates sound installations and partakes in creative projects incorporating various kinds of art. He runs an experimental music education project for people with hearing impairment.
